Danger! – Pericolo di Morte





“Don’t touch the wires. Danger of death.” Doesn’t that kind of make you want to touch the wires? Human nature is a weird thing. These signs hang by the Batteria Nomentana overlooking the tangenziale. I’ve wanted to photograph them for awhile so waited until about an hour before sunset on Saturday to get good light. And yes, I realize it might be boring to see the same thing from so many angles, but I couldn’t choose! For those of you who don’t know, the tangenziale is a giant circular highway that rings around Rome (many other large Italian cities have them as well). This allows you quick access to different parts of the city without having to go down through the center. The bottom photo shows a train pulling into Stazione Nomentana with the off ramp to the tangenziale crossing above.

I’m not the only one who’s posted photos of these signs or similar ones, so I give a shout out to my fellow morbid photographers:
