Name that sculpture

Posted on Jan 11, 2009 | 4 comments

The other day I solved a little photo mystery on and thought it was fun, so now I’m putting the challenge to you all. What and where is this sculpture? Ok, so obviously it’s in Rome, but get more specific.

What do you win? Umm…a mention in the next post and bragging rights at winning the first ever “Name that sculpture” on the blog.

Seriously though, I’d be impressed with whoever could guess this.

  1. It is a statue at the facade of Basilica of St. John Lateran (Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano)

  2. Travelwriter is correct! It is one of the sculptures on the facade of San Giovanni in Laterano.

Now, can anyone tell me who exactly is the figure?

  3. Maybe a pope?

  4. Yes, Walker, you are correct. It’s definitely a Pope, which you can always tell from the Papal tiara he’s wearing. I’m actually not sure exactly which Pope it is, that will be for someone else to answer or I need to get better googling skills!
