Bar Campidoglio

My plans last night got canceled at the last minute, but I decided to hop on the bus anyway and head downtown to take some photos. Before I picked up my bus home I decided to make a pit stop to get some coffee and warm up at Bar Campidoglio. You’ll see two shots here, with the sign for the bar. What’s that in the background? Of course Piazza Campidoglio. You see it even better in the second shot where the neon sign is a blown out a bit. I first went here with my friend Katie a few years ago, as she used to come here often. It’s open ridiculously late at night….I’m talking 2 or 3 am here, the coffee is great, and it’s always full of people. Even last night around 12:30 am there were 5 or 6 regulars stopping by for a pick me up. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a late night stop. The bar is located at Piazza d’Aracoeli 11.

  1. so inviting, I wish I was there right now having a cup of tea or a glass of wine or maybe just some chocolate gelato.

  2. It’s all here waiting for you!

  3. I thought you were talking about the bar by the Musei Capitolini, but yes this one is a staple..but also my least favorite pedestrian crossing in Rome

  4. Haha, I have a feeling that one’s not open so late 😉 Plus, I like the non-fancy atmosphere. Yeah, cross at your own peril here! In fact the whole of Piazza Venezia and up through here is a nightmare to cross.

  5. I could wander round here all night from ice creams to coffees to something a little stronger.

  6. Babooshka, the best thing is you can get all three just in this bar!
