The Panificio, Piazza San Cosimato

Posted on Feb 1, 2009 | 7 comments

This panificio, or bakery, in Piazza San Cosimato is really fantastic. I had a yummy piece of pizza with prosciutto to tide me over during my photo walk. Pane mean bread in Italian, so any sort of baked good with be found there. I really liked these cool lights they had out front with the wine bottle and glass. The whole thing seems like it comes right out of a movie from the 1950s. By the way, Piazza San Cosimato is generally much quieter than the nearby Piazza Santa Maria Trastevere, but with some good restaurants and wine bars to try out. If you want to find the bakery yourselves, here’s the location on Google Maps. I must say that Google Maps is pretty impressive in Rome. You can go down to street level and walk the city virtually with no problem, a nice tool if you’ve never been or want to come back.

So this is my 100th post, thanks for sticking with me and stick around for the next 100!
