Friday Afternoon at Termini

Posted on May 22, 2009 | 5 comments

Hustle and flow of people doing in and out of Termini station on Friday afternoon. I’m thinking of entering a concorso about multicultural Italy, which was one of the reasons I shot this. It’s been a crazy week here in Rome with work for me, so I’ve been a bit quiet, but will be doing some photo walks about the city this weekend to bring you all more stuff.

If you are in Rome this weekend, please consider attending Una Mostra per l’Abruzzo tomorrow at MondoPop on via dei Greci. All money from art and drinks sold will be used to buy items that will be personally delivered to volunteers in Abruzzo, so your money will be sure to go to earthquake victims. Many of the participating artists (such as UNO, Omino71, Mr. Klevra, etc) have been featured on the blog for their street art, and have kindly created pieces to donate to the gallery. You can see UNO’s piece on his Flickr account. If you can’t make it tomorrow (the opening is from 7 pm to 10 pm), the pieces will be on display and available for purchase until June 13.

  1. I think it is amazing — how what’s COOL looks different in different parts of the world.

  2. Hey Jessica! I stumbled across your blog not too long ago and I have to say you are doing a fantastic job! I love checking up on your new posts and getting to catch a glimpse of one of my absolute favourite cities in the world!! I envy you for being able to live in such a beautiful city that is so rich in history and culture. Maybe one day my dream of living in Italy will come true! Well keep up the great work! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. This photo is excellent. It’s a shame that most people who’ve never been to Europe have no clue how multicultural the major cities are. That’s definitely not the image portrayed in movies and the media. Thanks for this glimpse.

  4. Hi Abe, thanks, glad you think it looks cool. Me too ๐Ÿ™‚

Dreamer – Welcome to the blog and thanks for your comment. Maybe some day you will be here as well!

Fly Bro – Rome is definitely not a multicultural as some other European cities, but it’s getting there and there is a growing community of people from all over the world. Slowly slowly progress will continue to be made. But yeah, it’s definitely not all elegant looking Italians dripping in Prada ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Una bellissima immagine… mi piace molto il genere street laddove si vedono persone in movimento, mentre il fuoco รจ su soggetti fermi e perfettamente nitidi. Brava, complimenti!
