A smart person filling up their empty water bottle in a nasone in Piazza Madonna dei Monti. I say smart because I read today that it reached 105 degrees in Rome. Seriously, my brain felt like mush at the end of the day!

I have a few bits of news to relay on the blog. The first is that I’ll be having an exhibit at Hobo Art Club in Pigneto opening September 11. The show will feature photography from the “Versus on the Road” project I shot for Omino71 and Mr. Klevra and will feature some new artwork by them as well.

Second, I have a photo featured in the “Light” issue of a very cool art and photo e-zine Platform58, which you’ll find embedded below. My photo is featured on page 18 and is again from the series of shots I did for Omino71 and Mr. Klevra. I wish the resolution came out better, but I’m still learning about how to work with the digital files.

Lastly I want to give a little PR to a blog that is a bit like my Italian brother. Started by Omino71, RomaStreetFood combines his love of street art and food—two things I’m definitely on board with. You can even read an interview with me on the site where I talk about food and my relationship with the street. I’ve been translating most of the posts so both Italian and English speakers can enjoy the reviews, stories, and interviews he posts on the site. It’s definitely a rare treat to get insider tips from a native Roman, so make it worth my while to translate by reading away! (PS. the interviews might not always be translated because sometimes it’s a bit too colloquial for me to get right, but I do my best!).

  1. Congrats!! (I can't think of anything more to say..brain is fried from NY heat 😉 )

  2. No kidding, seems like it's warm everywhere. It's 32 degrees Celsius in Vancouver.

  3. le tue foto sono sempre belle. Sono stato a Roma un paio di giorni fa e ho provato ad "imitarti". chissa se ci sono riuscito. fa sapere.Ciaooooo :-)))))) Arzach di

  4. Congratulations on the different recognitions, it must be pretty satisfying.

I have to say though, we have had enough water falling on the UK in the last few days, we don't need to fill our water bottles to keep cool, it's happening naturally.

  5. auguri.

This Roman heat is out of control. I hope it cools off soon.

  6. Congratulations and well deserved. (a balmy 68 here in Minneapolis)

  7. is this typical Rome summer weather?
I read your interview and can not wait to go visit Angelo e Simonetta. I will be in Rome starting next weekend and I will be reading your blog everyday until then!
    Thank you.

  8. Simone and Jerry – Haha is it mean to say I'm glad that I'm not alone in the heatwave?

Arzach – Ciao! Tanto tempo che non ti sento. Ti sei divertito a roma? Fammi sapere come vengono le foto di roma.

NYC – I know right? I'm permanently plopped in front of my fan.

John – I hear you, my family in the US is telling me they're in the same situation. Rainy summers are not fun!

Lola – I saw that! Great post. I guess in heat everyone has water on the brain 😉

Dusty – Thanks very much….I am jealous of the temp there!

Lily – Congrats on your trip to Rome! Yes, this is the usual heat here in the summer, so be prepared! If you make it out to Angelo e Simonetta, let me know what you think. I'm not sure when their August vacation is.
