Architectural Detail

This sculptural detail above a doorway on the via del Boschetto caught my eye. I believe it’s a wolf and you’ll find all sort of similar sculpture or low reliefs over the doors of older buildings in the city. I think they used to help identify the owners of the buildings, much like family crests.

  1. Original families of Rome? Those 2 wolf boys ;)

  2. I fell in love with Rome when we visited in 2007. Looking forward to going back, for much longer than a week! Really enjoy seeing Rome through your eyes. Thank you.
