Palatine Hill
The day I visited the House of Augustus, I also took this photo of a couple enjoying their vacation in Rome. In fact, some of my favorite things to do when out in the more touristy areas of Rome is actually watch the visitors more than the spaces. It’s kind of refreshing when you see people enjoying something that you can (believe it or not) become blase’ about just because it’s all over the place. Oh look! Another ruin and column, yippee! It sounds silly, but after awhile it becomes the norm so sometimes it takes seeing people really enjoying themselves and taking it in to make you appreciate it all over again.
I can perfectly understand, it happens to me here in Verona every day…. Although I must say that since I do the Verona Daily Photos, I look at any tinest detail with a different eye…
