The Mannequin

Posted on Oct 8, 2009 | 8 comments

This mannequin in the window of the Prada shop on via dei Condotti could not escape my attention. Something about the eye shadow was very freaky to me. But hey, I guess that’s fashion. It was impossible to get an angle on the window without reflection, so I decided to incorporate that into the photo by taking in the building across the street. I also loved how the model in the photograph inspired them the give the mannequin the same hair, which I think is a great red color.

  1. There is something to be said of taste that inspire as seen through the eyes of one with a cultivated eye, unfortunately I’m not the one best able to say it but I’ll say this. You my dear have an eye for the divine. I will follow with interest and appreciation.

  2. I walked past that window on my way to the park and noticed the eye shadow too. It's very "runway". In real life people would think you had a serious case of pink eye or something.

I loved how you incorporated the photo of the model.

  3. the "spaces" you create in the composition add to the alure of the manequin. i like it.

  4. It reminds me of a geisha. I don't like her style but this photo is so good. The window in the reflection makes it perfecly composed. Brava!
