Top Photos of 2009: #2-#5

Posted on Dec 30, 2009 | 10 comments

This year was a good year for my photography and I think my photographs have steadily improved through the year, a trend I hope continues! If you follow me on Twitter or are a fan on Facebook, you already know that several weeks ago I chose one photo which I thought represented the best I’d taken that month and then asked you all to vote on what your favorites were. So, here we got with the top 5 countdown, with number 1 being revealed tomorrow. I hope you all have a happy New Year and thank you again for all your support over the past year, I really mean it when I say that seeing your comments and having you follow along really is what makes me want to go out there and shoot even more of Rome to show you.

And so, on with the countdown, with links to the original posts below each photo. Let me know what your favorites from this past year were!

We have a two way tie here with the following:

Urban Portrait – Punkabestia

Blessed Ludovica Albertoni

Metro Cavour

Woman in the Window

  1. nice! gorgeous photos! I really really really liked the first one for some reason?

do you sell your photos or anything?

  2. I like the last one! Fantastic! … but oh… Bernini… Hmm.

  3. All of them beautiful and very provocative images. Have a wonderful 2010!

  4. Really fantastic. I also love the first one–but I'm a dog fanatic so that may have something to do with it. Thank you for sharing. I've enjoyed following your blog. Happy New Year!

  5. Happy New Year Jessica . P.s photo of the year 2009 Metro Cavour

  6. Noi adoriamo la punkabestia! Tanti auguri, e buon anno nuovo!

  7. have enjoyed your work and look forward to seeing more in the year ahead.
i will be returning to rome and southern italy in february and am eager to hit the ground capturing everything that catches my eye 🙂
    happy new year

  8. My favorite is the first one with the dog. I love the way he's looking off–I think there's definitely a story there that I don't feel as much in the other ones.

BTW, I was in Rome last month, and I finally got the last of my pics up on my blog. Check 'em out if you have a chance! 🙂

  9. I enjoy your urban street scenes, they are blunt with bold symmetry, this one typifies it. while viewing this one, i realized that I usually shoot at angles rather than head on.

A side benefit through photo-blogging is that we have grown as photographers and learning from each other. Thank you for the visual tips.

My favorite is #4, Metro Cavour. It is balanced with the blue of the Metro signage with the blue railing and blue purse of the woman. wide open doors balanced against the narrow steps and ladder.

  10. Hi everyone, thank you for your comments! It interesting to hear which ones you like and why!

Nathanael – Yes, I do sell prints of my photos, just send me an email and we can talk about it.

Arzach – Da tanto che non ti sento! Buon anno a te!

Virginia – Enjoy your trip and happy photo hunting! Where down south will you be visiting?

Rob – Thank you for you comments! Very true about photoblogging, there's no shortage of inspiration to find by looking at everyone else's work!
