Chinese New Year

Posted on Feb 14, 2010 | 3 comments

Thanks to my religious reading of 06blog, I found out that my very own neighborhood was celebrating Chinese New Year today with a traditional parade, Kung Fu demonstration, and book presentation. I decided to head out to see the parade and had to get my aggressive photographers hat on, as everyone was angling to get good photos. Apparently I wasn’t the only photographer around who thought it would be a good photo op. It was great to see a lot of people out in the streets to watch the parade, which was put together by a local Tai Chi cultural association, and I’ll especially commend the young guys in the dragon and lion suits, who really put on a show for everyone. It was hilarious seeing the little kids all curious and wanting to touch them and then freaking out when they moved.

  1. Neat!

  2. Oh I would have loved to have been there.

  3. It was great fun, so glad I read about it.
