Crisi? Processo breve? ‘

Posted on Mar 27, 2010 | 3 comments

When Urka told me he went out and posted up some new posters during his stay in Rome, I went out immediately to see them, but didn’t have my camera with me until two days later. This is the risk of pasting up out on the street, in two days you poster can already be partially scratched off – but I love the effect anyway. And there wasn’t anything that made me happier than snapping this photo while this older gentleman leaned on the door frame smoking away. Urka often speaks about politics and current events through his art, and lately he’s done a lot about the economic crisis. This one translates “Crisis? Short trial?” For those of you who aren’t familiar with ‘Ndrangheta, that would be the Calabrian mafia.

  1. Great image! You are right the gentleman translates really well into the image.

  2. Wouldn't it be alluding to the new short trials law (il processo breve)?

  3. Hi Oscar – You are right! Sorry about that, I corrected the translation.
