Isn’t it funny how a single letter can signify something so immediate for you, just based on how it’s laid out and the font? Anyone who lives in Rome or has spent time in Rome knows what this letter above means. Letters themselves are symbols, calling cards for a person or a thing, just as much as any picture. Has anyone seen the documentary Helvetica? I haven’t yet, but I think it will be my next iTunes rental. It’s all about visual design and typography have a subtle, but important, influence over our every day lives.
