The Little Things

Posted on Jun 6, 2010 | 3 comments

I was walking around Monti after work on Friday desperately trying to find something interesting to photograph when this lovely door handle stuck out at me. Sometimes it’s the littlest details that make a great photo. I then started looking at all the door handles on the street, but really, it was this one that was the most refined and decorative. I think in the US you’d be hard pressed to find this sort of handle, definitely not on someone’s front door. A friend is renovating his apartment here and showed me these amazing 1920s door handles he’d found in a flee market in Berlin for just €30 a piece. They were amazingly hand crafted and will make the place really unique. If it’s one thing I’ve learned, often older is better!
