iPhone Photo of the Week: Cinema America
This old cinema from the 1950s is located in Trastevere on via Natale del Grande. Though the shot is fairly grainy, I think it has a certain cinematic quality to it and I loved the signage on the old movie theater. There are many old, historic theaters in Rome that have been shut down and in 2007 there was a plan to tear down this building and turn it into a block of mini-apartments. Luckily the residents won out and though the front is still clapboarded up, the old majesty of the building remains.
