Madonna dei Monti

This image of the Madonna that reigns over Piazza Madonna dei Monti was taken to pair with a canvas painted by Mr. Klevra in the square on Thursday night.  It’s all part of the Suburban exhibit that I wrote about last week and this photograph, along with three others, and all four canvases will be on sale from tonight in Villa Aldobrandini (6 pm to midnight) and then in the Galleria Ex-Monti Club all next week.  Trying to think of a more artistic way to photograph the Madonna wasn’t easy, but my trusty 50 mm, set to a very low f-stop and purposely overexposing the photo worked well.  This gave an interesting focus point to the image and the overexposure caused the background to white out, creating a misty bright halo of light around the altar.  It’s an image I actually like quite a bit, and I hope you do as well.  If you’re at the Villa tonight, come say hello, I should be there at some point.  See more pictures of the live painting below
