The Season of Change
It’s freezing here in Rome (or at least freezing for Rome!) and the holidays are fast approaching, bringing lots of change. Of course, those of you who follow the news know about the chaos in Rome yesterday brought about as a result of Berlusconi holding on to office by a shoestring (I have no words). Though I’m annoyed the confidence vote passed, I think the narrow margin really spells doom for him, but only time will tell.
In addition to political change, you may have noticed a big change here on the blog! After several years on Blogger, I’ve made the plunge to WordPress in order to change things up a bit. I’ve found that after so long, it’s getting harder to go out and photograph as much as I used to and there is so much going on that I’m aware of now, but didn’t always write about because it didn’t fit into the model of the blog. My aim with the redesign is to be able to include more information about events happening in town that you might not know about and maybe even do some reviews of books and/or interviews. This doesn’t mean, of course, that I’m abandoning my camera (never!). It just means that I’ve separated out some categories to make it easier to post content in new ways. You’ll also see that I’ve highlighted street art on the homepage and have made it easier to search by artist. This will allow me to post more photographs that I’ve often left off the blog because I didn’t want to overwhelm it with one topic.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the redesign and I’ll continue to make adjustments as I figure out more and more about WordPress. In the meantime, any feedback or suggestions (either design or content wise) are more than welcome.
