As usual, I’m back from vacation just as the city empties out into a peaceful August. Walking around Pigneto tonight it was almost deserted except for the little mouse that skittered down the sidewalk. I think I say this every year, but I truly love staying in Rome during this period. It makes the city seem like a tiny little hamlet at least for a few weeks until everyone gets back and the city roars to life again.
Jessica, this is so calm and inviting I want to go to Rome right now!
This seems so peaceful, and a great time to visit. I’ll have to keep that in mind.
