It’s good to be back in Rome after a break.  New energy and a new vision for what I’m doing will bring a renewed energy to the blog, with more frequent updates and new content.  From my perch in the US, where I also had a visitor from Rome, I saw JB Rock posting a new wall filled with letter.  Agressive, yet elegant, I decided to name it the Wall of a Thousand Letters.  A mix of pixação, Brazilian wall writing originally done in tar, and other lettering styles, JB Rock is slowly but surely creating a mosaic of letters; forming his name and showing that words can be art as well.  As the shouts of the old Italian neighbors bounds off the walls, I’m reminded of how fun it is to paint in Italy, where everyone seems to have an opinion.  Stay tuned for the finished product, but in the meantime a few details.

And for those of you looking for something to do this weekend, March 23 is the closing of Urban Area, an event going since December to connect street art and one of the many occupied cinemas across the city, this one located in Pigneto.
