Nuns Love Graffiti Too
Only in Rome….
This afternoon the Graff Dream shop celebrated 6 years with a graffiti jam in conjunction with Galleria Varsi for Skeme’s exhibition on May 9. It was a long, but fun day with tons of local writers spread out along via della Stazione Tuscolana and kids en masse swarming Skeme to get their idols tag on posters and books. But the moment of the day came when the nuns who run the school that donated the wall came out to help lock up the ladders for the night. All of a sudden before I knew it, one of the sisters took a can and start painting a bit of Skeme’s wall! It was a fantastic moment as everyone freaked out at the joy the two nuns took in the entire experience. As Skeme said, “If I show this picture at the pearly gates, I’ll get in for sure no problem.”
And this is why I love photographing Rome.
