Sometimes when you live outside of the center, you forget just how beautiful Rome’s classic sites can be.  I know that must sound insane for people who visit the city, but it’s true.  Just think of where you live, especially if you live in a city. Don’t you usually stick to the same neighborhoods and the same patterns?  When something brings you to a new place or back to an old area you don’t frequent anymore, it can be a beautiful surprise, just as what happened when I spent some time in Piazza Campidoglio this weekend.  Through the portico you can see the Roman Forum lingering in the background.

  1. This is a beautiful photo. B&W is the perfect choice. It underscores the age of the scene. Love those diagonal lines in the shafts of light and shade.
